CPU - Central Processing Unit (A.K.A Processor) - The brain of the PC RAM - Random Access Memory - The short term memory of the PC GPU - Graphical Processing Unit - The eyes of the PC HDD - Hard Disk Drive - The long term memory of the PC SSD - Solid State Drive - The long term memory of the PC - but on caffeine! PSU - Power Supply Unit - The energy source of the PC PCI - Peripheral Component Interconnect - A type of connection found on the Motherboard USB - Universal Serial Bus - A commonly used connection type for external devices KBM - Keyboard & Mouse The deeper into the rabbit hole of PC building you go, the most acronyms you will come across.
